Joshua 18:1-10-Israel meets at Shiloh. This was 10 miles north of Bethel. There, they pitched the Tabernacle. It would remain there during the period of the Judges (see 22:9,12; 1 Samuel 1:3).
The last 7 tribes had not yet been assigned their land...so Joshua had them do a survey to determine how to divide it. He sent three men from each of the tribes to scout out the land. They divided it into 7 sections and then he cast lots to determine which tribe would get which section of land.
Joshua 18:11-28-The Territory of Benjamin
Prayer: Father, Ephraim did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in their land. In years to come, these Canaanites became a thorn in their flesh and a stumbling block…leading them to become involved in worship of their false gods. Please help me, Lord, to be completely free of those influences in my life that would lead me away from You. Holy Spirit, please fill me to the extent that there is no room left for anything else.
