Paul’s defense of his Apostolic ministry, part 1 (3:1-6:10)-continued
2 Corinthians 6
2 Corinthians 6:1-10-Paul’s defense of his Apostolic ministry is seen in his determination to do nothing that would result in discrediting the name of Christ.

Continuing with the theme of our being “ambassadors for Christ” (:20)...Paul admonishes us to not waste time...this is the day to be about the work of God...”now is the day of salvation” (:2). Paul says that no matter what happens in their lives...they should never allow their actions to become a bad witness for the ministry (:3). In fact, whatever happens is an opportunity for God to be glorified (he lists many possibilities in vv. 4-10).

Paul’s admonition for godly living (6:11-9:15)
1 Corinthians 6:11-13-He tells them to give careful consideration to what he has written. Paul says that while he is an Apostle...ultimately, he cannot force them to do anything, the decision is up to them. However, he urges them to remember that he speaks to them with the love of a father to a child...and as a result, they should be responsive to what he has to say.
1 Corinthians 6:14-7:1-He tells them to not be associated with unbelievers
2 Corinthians 6:14-Paul now tells the church to not allow non-believers to be a part of their congregation. What separates the church from all other religious organizations is that the church is the temple of the one and only, true God. Believers are the children of God. All other religions are false.
Prayer: Father, please help me to always maintain a holy life and a pure witness for You...no matter what I go through. Help me to keep my life focused on Jesus and for Him to be the guiding power throughout my life.
