Temple offers several options for children with special needs, giving them a safe place to learn about Jesus in an environment that understands their unique needs. It provides the parents with peace of mind knowing their children are well cared for so they can attend the service. Our classrooms offer safe toys, manipulatives, sensory tools, and a ball pit along with trained caregivers, many of whom have worked in the field of disabilities and special needs giving your child a fun, rich environment where they can learn about the love of Jesus.
- Buddies are assigned to children who can function well in a media rich environment with their peers but need a little bit of help to do so. Their buddy will be with them the whole time, loving them, and helping them achieve success with their peers.
- LIFE I is for the younger children, those with more significant needs, or those who simply require more one on one attention with less distractions.
- LIFE II class is for older children whose needs can't be met in a large group setting with their peers and who require a safe, calm environment where they are free to play and explore.
Special Needs Bible Study/Support Group
If you've been entrusted with the care of a special needs child, the unique challenges that arise from caring for such special kids can be exhausting and isolating. But you are not alone. We were created for fellowship! Not only fellowship with our Heavenly Father but with each other as well! We are all created in God's image, to be a part of each other: "All of you together are Christ's body and each of you is a part of it" 1 Cor. 12:27. That includes you and your special child.
Whether your child's needs range from mild to severe, there are others out there just like you who know what it means to care for such special kids. Find spiritual support and join with other's for a bible study/support group just for families of children with special needs.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 6-8. Childcare is provided if needed.
