Romans 15:21-33

Paul tells the members of the church in Rome that he has often wanted to come to there...but has been busy taking the Gospel to places where no one had previously gone, before.  His immediate plan is to make a trip to Jerusalem to deliver the offering taken up by the churches in Macedonia and Achaia.

Then, he intends to go to Spain...and along the way, to go to Rome.  Paul asks them to "strive together with me in your prayers to God for me" that he will be delivered from those who oppose him (there are still those among the Jewish believers who are struggling with the whole concept of Gentiles becoming followers of Christ…and what requirements other than faith they think would be necessary).  And, that his ministry in Jerusalem will be acceptable to the believers that are there...so that he may at last come visit them and be refreshed.

Prayer: Father, please help me to be aware of where You are leading me.  Help me to prepare my heart for what You have in store for me in the future.  I ask that You would allow me to help to provide for the needs of the poor and to be a man who strives for others in prayer.
